Last weekend, Caitlin , Beth and I attended the AGM at British Theatre Dance Association in Leicester. This was a fascinating insight into the progress of this phenomenal association. BTDA have worked relentlessly to gain OFQUAL accreditation and have now succeeded in adding Lyrical to the growing list of disciplines. To date Ballet, Tap, Lyrical and Modern are now equivalent to GCSE's and A Levels and beyond, and Musical Theatre will be added to the list in the near future. Because of this breadth of accredited subjects BTDA has been selected to deliver Performing Arts across the educational system in China. All the above exams now carry UCAS credits from Grade 1 upwards. We have a chart available for viewing at St Matthews Church Hall, North Quay, Douglas for anyone who is considering a career in Performing Arts, or who would like to considerably boost their UCAS credits.
