Areas of Study
Theatrix Performing Arts provides an integrated course schedule of learning through exploration, personal discovery, and self-reflection. In every class, our teachers emphasise the strategies and processes involved in understanding the course content, the opportunities available to students through a wide range of abilities and talents. Students can work towards a career in performing arts, train as teachers or simply enjoy taking part in the classes and shows which are the basis of Theatrix Performing Arts. Please see our current courses detailed below.

Grace in strength
Ballet is at the core of every dance discipline taught at Theatrix Performing Arts. Ballet imparts strength, discipline, stamina and an encyclopaedic knowledge of dance choreography and terminology. Technique taught during ballet classes enables students to adapt to all other dance forms; encourages correct breathing and posture; encourages a work ethic which lasts a lifetime. Students work through Grades starting with Preparatory and culminating in Advanced for vocational students or Gade 8 for students training to teach. Beyond these grades further professional development is available at the Principals discretion.
Excellence in Performance
At Theatrix, all students are encouraged to take part in a Modern Jazz class. There is no better way to build strength and flexibility, and jazz dances choreographed for shows and exams are lots of fun to perform! This dance discipline is a requirement for all students who wish to perform as a career, even those specialising in Drama and Singing; it's the basis for the majority of Musical Theatre dances and gives students a chance to express themselves to their favourite pop songs. This is traditionally the most lively class, and the most sociable, despite being extremely hard work!
Just for Fun or A Level?
The choice is yours! Tap dancing has been described as the only form of dance designed specifically to make you smile. Ther's plenty of enjoyment happening in our tap classes, but if you would like qualifications, such as a GCSE or an A level equivalent, that's an option too.
